Beef is What's for Dinner!

I know you might all be wondering how I found this Web page, and I don't know if I could really give you a good answer.  But once I got to the "Beef is What's for Dinner" website, under the health section was this great Web page.

It has a number of great examples for the different principles in Web design.  First, you can look at the flow.  Most eyes would be focusing on the lady running.  You start at the top and work your way down.  If you notice, she isn't perfectly centered in the middle of the page straight down.  This gives the asymmetry balance which looks good.  Then your eyes are probably drawn back up to the top left corner.  This is for a few reasons:  the color, the large font and it is how we usually read from top to bottom.  Then there is the verbal flow of the page.  You see the repetition with red throughout the page.  You also can following the different vitamins that are listed down the top half of her body. You notice that if you were to put grid lines on, you can almost see the "rule of thirds" on the page.  Nothing is completely centered.  There is contrast with the colors.  There is also repetition with the circles and with the bar graph. There is a lot on this page, but it is still clean and easy to read. I think they did a great job with the layout considered the information they were trying to get out to their readers.

My grammatical error for this week is a sign that maybe is supposed to be for those criminals that they wouldn't even notice the error.

I am really amazed at how many times I have seen "loose" used instead of "lose."  If you look at the English language, it doesn't follow the phonetic rule, and you would think this posting might be correct, but it isn't.
