We Are Nothing But Energy

For my example of style from Chapter 10, I chose a piece of dialog from the movie “The Matrix.”  The part I chose is when Morpheus is describing how the machines get power from humans.

    Morpheus : The human generates more bio-electricity than 120-volt
        battery and over 25,000 BTVs of body heat. Combined with
        a form of fusion, the machines have found all the energy
        they would ever need. There are fields...endless fields,
        were human beings are no longer born. We are grown. For
        longest time, I wouldn't belive it...and then I saw the
        fields with my own eyes. Watch them liquefy the dead, so
        they could be fed intravenously to the living. And standing
        there, facing the pure horrifying precision, I came to
        realize the obviousness of the truth. What is The Matrix?
        Control. The Matrix is a computer generated dream world,
        built to keep us under control in order to change a human
        being into this.
    Morpheus holds up a battery to Neo

Morpheus uses descriptive detail to break down how much energy the human body produces.  He also uses descriptive details to help visualize how humans are now grown, not born.  Finally, he compares humans to batteries.

I know that this is a movie, which has visuals, but the descriptive details Morpheus gives makes the scene so much more interesting.  Without him breaking down a human into electrical power units, the scene wouldn’t be as impactful or make sense.  Then at the end of the scene when he holds up a battery, making his point, that humans are just batteries to the machines.  I think that this scene helps the entire movie make sense because without it, why would the machines create a digital world for humans to live in or keep humans alive.
