Words, Words, WORDS!!!

This last week has been pretty tough. I almost feel like every word confuses me now. I'm not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. I think that it's good to critically think and analyze your writing. However, I'm struggling distinguishing when I should do that. This whole course is effective when I am proofreading my work but not while writing it down first. I need to get out of the mind set of editing and into my creative mind while going through it first.

Some of the words I continue to struggle with are: who vs whom, affect vs effect, less vs fewer, and just a few others.

Slow and steady, I am getting better at the grammar above. I used to struggle a lot with lay vs lie but with more practice and use, I am getting better. I hope by the end of the semester, I have mastered the basics of grammar. However, I expect to lake my AP Stylebook with me to my next classes and beyond!

My error that I found was actually during a lecture. I took a picture of it because it wasn't a proper use of quotations. However, I usually have my phone on vibrate but this time I didn't. When I snapped the picture there was a loud SNAP sound that went along with it. Needless to say, that was embarrassing.

  1. While reading your comment, I can say that I feel just like you do. It feels like every word is confusing and that we never speak right or the proper way no matter how hard we try. What a class huh?
